Brown Wedding- Sneak Peek
Typically, we handle the engagement part of it, and clients leave super excited to have amazing new portraits, but that is where it generally ends- that is- until another portrait experience presents itself. Usually, we don't chase after wedding work. So after their engagement session, I had no idea at that time how close we would get over the next year. Every once in a while, we have a couple that we connect with so well that we would be more than honored to work with them on their special day. Carl and Amy were definitely the wedding photographer's dream couple! We couldn't have been more blessed to be a part of this day with them!! Judging by the amount of guests, the smiles on everyone's faces that day, I would imagine anyone that knows these two share the same sentiments :-) I mean, who else can convince 8734612938432462 people to be a part of their wedding party ;-)
Beautiful location, beautiful couple, perfect ceremony and next-to-perfect planning on Amy's part made this a wedding that most only dream of. Seriously, as the person that basically never left Amy's side all day I'm using this to insert a not-so-shameless plug that if you need to hire someone to plan something- Amy is your girl! When most of us should of been breaking down in tears, she kept calm and remained focused on the overall reason everyone was coming together that day- to celebrate a unity of two people who are committing their lives to one another. I truly think that is what makes the both of them so special. Yes, the wedding was magazine worthy. But their marriage- its going to be so strong and genuine- that its going to blow the wedding out of the water. In fact, it may of not been until this specific moment, as I'm writing these words, that I've realized why I started straying away from wedding work. It was because more than not, we tend to focus on the physical actions of a wedding ceremony- the tangible things present, having a perfect color scheme and making sure our cake is on point ( because who doesn't like cake ;-)) Sometimes, however, in the mix of things we prioritize those things higher than the actual reason we are coming together to celebrate in the first place- for love. Throughout this entire planning process to make this day special, it was very obvious that both Carl and Amy above all, were most excited to start a life together and be married. Everything else was just a bonus.
Thank you again for allowing us to be your "paparazzi" on your special day, and may your days together be long, fulfilled and grow even more "special" as each year passes!
